Return to Athletics - Wednesday 10th September 2025
Hi All,
We hope you have all had an enjoyable summer. Athletics training will start back on Wednesday 10th September.
Training
Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for all training sessions & competitions. They must wear sports gear (club gear for competitions), and proper runners. Spikes can be worn for various cross country & track events. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery is permitted.
Each group will be updated with the training times on Wednesdays.
Competitions
All information for competitions will be communicated through your child's Clubzap group. Please make sure that you read the information carefully and sign your child up for the approriate competitions. If you are unsure what events to enter, please check with your child's coaches. Please note that the athletics season is divided into three competitions:
1) Cross Country (August - December)
2) Indoors ( January - March)
3) Outdoors (April - July)
Membership
Our membership is managed through the Athletics Ireland Portal. It is due in January of each calendar year. Membership renewals will be sent in December. If your child is not returning to athletics, please let us know as we have a large waiting list.
Weather
Please make sure that your child has plenty of layers on when you send them to training, including a hat and gloves, when necessary. In the event that training has to be cancelled, we will let you know via ClubZap. We have over 200 members, so it may not be possible to reply to individual messages.
Volunteers
If any parents would be in a position to volunteer to help with coaching or administration for their child’s group, could you please let us know. Our Club is 100% volunteer led and cannot function if we don't have enough volunteers.
